Jake X creates illustrative work inspired by folklore, anatomy, and forgotten knowledge. He draws from a vast personal archive of old reference books, merging botanical studies, anatomical oddities, monsters, and myth into finely detailed pen drawings and tattoo stencils. He likes to work with stippled textures and fine lines, his work often feels like creations from a strange unnatural world. He likes to create a lot of his tattoos freehand.
